BANDIT’S VETERAN RESCUE
PETS & VETS
Mission: To share the Word of Truth in Faith & Love, extend charitable support to under-served communities by providing assistance & resources for U.S. Military Veterans, the disabled and homeless population in need of various levels of care.
Provide pet food, outdoor shelter & more; safely/humanely reduce the population of homeless, abandoned, lost cats & dogs while providing food assistance to community neighbors in need of supplemental support for themselves, their families and their indoor/outdoor pets.
Goals: To acquire property to make a home available for homeless Veterans/Veteran's Family & their Pets. Acquire a property "Bandit's Veteran Rescue Pets/Vets Sanctuary" to care for homeless cats and dogs in need of support. When possible, the ideal goal would be to pair a Vet with a Pet in a forever home.
How this Non-Profit came into existence:
After suffering multiple traumatic experiences with injuries and lifelong scars during my tour of duty in the U.S. Air Force, (stateside & middle east deployments) I returned back home to Detroit, MI determined to move forward in excellence in spite of my injuries. Unfortunately, I forged my way through life using an over-the-top high standard work ethic and unhealthy alternatives to help me cope with life after the military; all of which hindered and literally stalled all efforts to live my full potential.
At a very low point in this journey, my older brother suggested that I rescue a shelter pet for comfort; specifically, a German Shepard. I did just that by rescuing a pup approximately two months old and I named him Bandit. I am thoroughly convinced that I did not rescue him, He Rescued Me!
The carnage and horror behind me have prepared me for this awesome call on my life, which in part; is to show unconditional Love/Charity and the amazing connection between humans & our pets.
This unscripted story and Vet-Pet rescue effort has provided healing for me with hope to serve lives that have been left behind! This bond that Bandit and I have forged has been a harmonic melody; continually leading me to what I call “Intentionally Living My Very Best Life in Serving other Lives”!
I am literally pouring my life into the often-voiceless lives with boots on the ground, standing for those who cannot stand for themselves, the forgotten Veterans, the vulnerable, elderly, disabled and our neighborhood cats and dogs that are often neglected, abused, abandoned to the streets.
I am sold out for serving God and committed to using every resource, gift and talent that He has given me to make a positive difference through "Bandits Veteran Rescue Pets & Vets"!!
She is FIV positive, but can be a one kitty house cat or a buddy for another FIV kitty

This little fella is holding his own but I am currently trying to rescue him. He is a kitten and was in the same location as the 6 gray and white kittens but from a different liter and sheltered down in a different area of the restaurant parking lot. He is getting to be a little less skittish and my hope is that I will be able to rescue him soon, foster him for a small period and find him a forever home with a Veteran
A German Shepard named Bandit rescued a Military Veteran who did not realize she needed rescuing but who is forever grateful for this shelter Shepard that changed her life. In 2022 a weak faint kitten cry was heard from under some bushes during a thunder storm. Those kitten cries were coming from a Siamese cat less than 4 weeks old, left abandoned to the streets. She was rescued and named Sassy Cat. That same Veteran who is totally sold out and committed to rescuing/supporting cats/dogs & supporting Veterans with hopes to pair a Pet to a Vet in a forever home!!

Rescuing feral cats with babies is a rewarding challenge. This Momma cat lived on the porch of an animal lover named Linnie who was already sheltering 4 rescue dogs. She allowed this feral & many others to live on the porch where Momma cat pictured above gave birth to kittens; it appeared that only one survived. Both Momma Fluffy and Baby Mufassa were rescued in June 2022 & as of date, are both in a forever home with a Military Veteran
This handsome pooch was found wandering the streets and due to an assessment that identified behavioral issues, it is highly likely that he would not have been adopted and would have had a poor quality of life in a shelter. As of date MidnightCooper is in a forever home with a Military Veteran
These siblings were surrendered from a neighborhood community 3 weeks after their mother died. Ironically, they were nursed by Momma Fluffy pictured above and have since blossomed into adorable Maine Coon cats & adopted out to a sibling of a Military Veteran who has provided them a forever home.

These two pooches; Shadow & Buddy were rescued by a Korean Military Veteran who has provided them a forever home and a lifetime of love!!
Veterans and animals are suffering everyday & every moment counts! Is there anything you can do to help?

We have another Husky litter due in October, so we'll be announcing the take-home dates soon!
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Our aim is to reduce the population and ensure that the cats already living in a community are healthy, spayed/neutered and vaccinated. We do not collect cats/dogs unless it is part of a rescue effort. If you are concerned with a cat/dog population, please reach out to your local animal control office.
Our Animal Shelters are housing cats & dogs in an abundance and would be very grateful for residents to reach out to them if they are able and willing to adopt a shelter pet into a forever home. You can call your local Humane Society or other Animal Recue/Shelter Organizations that may have dogs/cats for adoption.
The Department of Natural Resources/(DNR) has a local contact number for your area with regards to collecting wild life such as raccoons. We are not trained nor equipped to rescue or relocate wild life from neighborhoods to their natural habitat.
